Team Active:Water - Marathon & 1/2 Marathon
Over 800 marathons take place in the world each year. Some of the most noteworthy, such as Chicago, Boston, New York City, London and Berlin marathons each draw participants by the tens of thousands. Recreational runners make up the majority of participants running the 26.2 mile road course, and often 16 to 21 weeks of training goes into preparation for competing in a marathon.
So Team Active:Water asks...why not be fit for a cause? Rather than fighting simply to be fit, why not go into each and every training day knowing that your efforts are paying off in a big way to bring a richer, fuller life for another person, another family, or even small community?
First, we can help you succeed with your event by providing you with a personal training plan, team uniform, and nutrition and injury prevention tips. But we'll also equip you with everything you need (video links, e-cards, brochures, and a personal fundraising page) to tell others about the water crisis and how it effects over a billion people worldwide. Most importantly, we'll help you show how your vigorous training and dedication on race day aims to provide clean water projects to a targeted area in one of the most impoverished countries in the world, and how your friends and family can join you in your sacrifice.
Whether you're interested in running a 26.2 mile race, or participating in a 13.1 mile race this season, Team Active:Water would love to have you represent our mission!
