Join Us for the Chicago Marathon...
On Sunday, October 11th, 2009 over a dozen Team Active:Water runners gathered to compete at Bank of America's Chicago Marathon and personally raised over $8,000 towards clean water projects for Zambia.
The Chicago Marathon truly is the crown achievement of dedicated runners from all over the world, with athletes gathering from 50 U.S. states and over 100 countries for this one particular event. The 26.2 mile course can be grueling for even the most elite runner, but over 45,000 runners participate annually. If you are interested in running this event for 2010, we would love to have you represent us on race day and assist us in continuing to bring clean water and sanitation projects to our friends in Africa.
Our runners will be prepared through personalized training programs and injury prevention guidance, given their own fundraising page as well as equipped with an official Active:Water uniform, and encouraged and supported by their fellow teammates and our Active:Water volunteers on race day.
Although registration for the 2010 race will not officially open until early February, feel free to contact us now and let us know that you are considering joining our team. The event will take place in downtown Chicago on October 10th, 2010. We hope to see you there!
