Brief Description:
The purpose of this fun, yet competitive event is to bring two passions together, running and saving lives! Built in to each participant's registration cost is a donation that will provide safe drinking water, improved sanitation, and hygiene training to an African through our clean water projects in Zambia.

Full Description:
This event day will begin at 7:00AM with on site registration for those who are not previously registered online. First in the lineup of events is our One Mile Kid's Fun Run starting at 8:30AM. You can register your child for the discounted "event only" rate, or for participation in the event and a race t-shirt! There will be prizes for the top 3 runners.
The 5K Run/Walk for Water will kick off at 9:00am. Healthy competition is welcome! This event is for runners of all levels and ages and the 3.1 mile course is scenic, smooth, and paved. It's a wonderful opportunity to feel your best and enjoy your community, while giving back to the world in a very tangible way. All participants will recieve an Active:Water race shirt for registering and the top 3 runners in each of the men's and women's class will be rewarded with a medal and an additional merchandise gift from Active:Water. The runners who place first in the men's and women's category will recieve a gift certificate to Gazelle Sports!
If you love 5K Walks and are interested in having more than just a fun walk, we invite you to "go the extra mile" and join us in making a big statement to our community through our Jerry Can Challenge! You can do so by bringing your own bucket, pail, or empty milk jug to carry water through the course and help us recreate a "water walk" in Africa. This event will take place at 9:05AM, just moments after our runners and competitive walkers launch. We'll be filling our pails with water at the canoe launch so be ready to be amazed at what our African friends do each and every day to retrieve water from polluted sources!
Whether you are registered to run or walk this event, please invite your friends and family to join you on race day and help us bring improved health to families in desperate need.
